Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about how FareShield protects your travel budget.

Does FareShield automatically cancel or rebook for me?

No - we never touch your reservation. FareShield only monitors prices and sends you an email when we see a cheaper fare so you can decide if you'd like to capture the savings by cancelling your reservation and rebooking.

Does this work with my airline?

FareShield is designed to work with all major US airlines and popular online travel agencies. If our system can't read your confirmation email, we'll let you know.

What if my ticket is non-refundable?

Most main-cabin or flexible tickets have no change fees, though basic economy tickets are typically more restrictive. If our system detects a non-refundable ticket, we'll let you know before monitoring your trip.

Will I get cash refunds or airline credits?

If your trip was booked as a refundable fare or your flight was booked within 24 hours of you rebooking, you'll get cash back. You'll otherwise typically receive airline credits for the difference in fare.

Is my data secure?

Yes - we only keep key trip details: dates, airports, airline, and price. We also use industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your information.

What does FareShield cost?

During our early launch, FareShield is free to use!
